Luminate at Coombe Abbey runs every night from 28 November to 2 January except Christmas Day, 4.30pm to 8pm entries. Parking, dog nights and park hours.
Checked 25 September 2026. Coombe Abbey Park, on the B4027 at Binley, has a Coventry postcode and is owned by Coventry City Council, but it sits inside Rugby borough. Coventry’s own management plan says the site is in a Rugby Borough Council ward, and names the borough as its planning authority. Its big winter draw is the Luminate light trail, which runs every night from Saturday 28 November 2026 to Saturday 2 January 2027, except Christmas Day.
The quick answer
- Luminate at Coombe Abbey: 28 November to 2 January, closed 25 December. Timed entry slots from 4.30pm to 8pm, pre-booked only. The walk takes 60 to 90 minutes.
- Parking for Luminate is £5 a car, added to your booking.
- Dogs are allowed only on set nights, and there are two sensory-friendly evenings, 1 and 8 December.
Luminate: dates and times
From Luminate’s Coombe Abbey page and its booking calendar, both read on 25 September:
- Open every night from 28 November 2026 to 2 January 2027, except Christmas Day. The event page gives the run as ending on Friday 1 January; the booking calendar is also selling Saturday 2 January
- Entry slots every 15 minutes, the first at 4.30pm and the last at 7.45pm to 8pm. The event page says entry runs “from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm”, but the slots on sale stop at 8pm
- On Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day the last entry is 8pm, the trail closes at 9.30pm, and food and drink stop by 9pm
- Tickets must be booked in advance. Several December Saturdays and the week before Christmas were already showing as “limited” in September
- A flexible ticket covers any night from 28 November to 10 December, with Saturday entry from 6.45pm on that ticket
Ticket prices appear only once you choose a slot, so they are not given here.

Getting there and parking
Luminate parks everyone in the main car park at £5 a car, and asks you to add it when you book. Blue badge holders are directed to a separate area near the trail entrance, though Luminate says it cannot guarantee a space there.
The trail is outdoors on established paths, with cable covers across some sections, and Luminate warns of “unfenced water” off the route, so keep small children close. Hot drinks, mulled wine and fire pits are promised; no outside alcohol is allowed.
The nearest main-line station Luminate names is Coventry, “a short taxi ride” away.
